Museum 'Sanctity of the Motherland'

The museum was opened on October 6, 2014, to educate the younger generation in patriotic values and honor Turkmenistan's national heroes. Within a vast park area are memorial monuments dedicated to Turkmen heroes of the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945), the victims of the Ashgabat earthquake of 1948, and the legendary defenders of the Geokdepe Fortress (1881).

The museum building stands atop a hill, accessible via a broad pedestrian staircase leading from the Bekrovinsky Highway. The museum's exhibition consists of four sections:

1. The Battle of Geokdepe (1881)

This section displays various documents, maps, photographs, medals, and both cold and firearms from that period. At the center of the hall stands a large, meticulously detailed model of the Geokdepe Fortress. One of the heroic episodes of the battle is depicted in a monumental panorama created and painted by Turkmen artists, showing the dramatic moment of a swift Turkmen cavalry attack.

2. The Great Patriotic War (1941-1945)

This section includes wartime documents, awards, and firearms. A memorial wall features portraits of Turkmen heroes of the Great Patriotic War, with the central position occupied by the portrait of the grandfather of the President of Turkmenistan — Berdymuhammed Annaev.

3. The Ashgabat Earthquake (1948)

This section is presented as a panoramic installation of the 1948 earthquake. In a dimly lit hall, visitors see partially destroyed buildings of Ashgabat. The emotional impact is strengthened by sound and light effects, creating a powerful immersive experience.

4. Modern White-Marble Ashgabat

The final section showcases photographs and models of the most significant modern buildings of the city. At its center is a laser installation that highlights the best architectural landmarks of contemporary Ashgabat.

In addition, the museum is equipped with modern multimedia and interactive technologies, enhancing the visitor experience.
